All the hooplah reminds me of another big anniversary: The American Bicentennial. The debate still rages as to whether it was a blast or a bust. I know Central School District #4 on Long Island tried to make it memorable, though I don't quite recall what the schools did. Oh yeah...there was probably at least one time capsule buried, perhaps where a Marriott Residence Inn stands today.
