SON OF MORE ELECTION RESULTS. Regarding those enigmatic New York propositions: No, Yes, Yes, Yes. The second "Yes" means megabucks for transportation including the MTA, so maybe someone will finally figure out a way to ensure that the MTA will handle its finances responsibly. As for the California initiatives, they were voted down in what's being reported as a defeat for Republican governor Arnold Schwarzeneggar.

Last night Ferrer said that Bloomberg's was the best financed campaign in United States history. It's probably wise to understand that as "the best financed mayoral reelection" in said history. I figured it was about $12.5 dollars per New Yorker; The New York Observer figures it also works out to more than $100 per Bloomberg voter.
