THE TRUMAN SHOW. The creepy crime movie In Cold Blood — based on Truman Capote's book and now even more bloody chilling in light of Robert Blake's involvement — will screen at the Film Forum through Tuesday, November 8. When the film premiered in 1967, Bosley Crowther of The New York Times praised it as an "excellent quasidocumentary, which sends shivers down the spine." Brrrr!

Thursday's 7:00 pm show includes a rare screening of the 1965 documentary With Love from Truman, by the Maysles Brothers.

Crowther's review is here. And if you just can't get enough of the word "quasidocumentary," check out this.

Question of the Hour: Would The Hunchback of Notre Dame qualify as a quasidocumentary?
