TRANSIT STRIKE FOLLOW-UPS.
MetroCard Discounts. Some MetroCard Discounts to cultural institutions (theater, museums, dance) still apply. See this PDF for more information. Also, MetroCard holders can get a 40% discount to the Knicks game tonight.

Culture Hack. NY1 reports that people in Lower Manhattan took advantage of the free Downtown Connection bus that continues to travel around the South Street Seaport, Battery Park, and northern Battery Park City.

Sleep-at-Work Hack. A barber near 44th and 9th told me about how he dealt with the hairy transportation situation: He lived at his barber shop for the duration, sleeping on a reclined barber's chair.

The Blame Game. I'm pleased to note that people polled by NY1 are spreading the blame generously, with 69 percent deeming Governor George Pataki's performance "not good or poor."

Transit Worker: The Blog. Over the course of the strike, the Transit Worker blog shed its New York Times article and the hundreds of comments (positive and negative) that gave the impression that it was something of a Democracy Wall.
Finally, for the sake of idle amusement, I'd like to draw your attention to this blog's previous post and the post that precedes it.
