WHERE WAS I? As per Debbie's request, this is a puzzle-free challenge. Use the Comments for your guesses...and don't be afraid to guess wrong!
Hint: It's not the Milton Berle Memorial.

it reminds me of my new qtip dispenser...
To be honest, I'm a little disturbed by the thought of that.
Ahhhhh! I'm loving the puzzle-free challenge...I'm clueless that much faster. A lighthouse? Smoke stack?
Well...in comparison to the qtip dispenser guess...you're getting warmer!
Perhaps looking up the pedestal of a statue?
Warmer!
everard bath house?
The Intrepid? On the West Side Highway in the 40s. 12th Avenue and 46th St. That's my guess.
It's not the Everard, but the Intrepid is warm!
Is it something on the west side pier at 70th street? Some sort of sculpture? I was so desperate for clues that I even did the unrelated parrot puzzle!
Keep your pants on, debbie...you're getting warmer.
I hope you enjoyed the puzzle!
You were at Hudson River park viewing a 30 foot long sculpture of a wine bottle (Thanks, Mr. Google).
Cool.
Actually, warm. Very very very warm.
This is where you say "David is hot! Hotter than ever!" According to an entry I saw on google this bottle IS in Hudson River Park at 54th St. on pier 96, so why is Dave only "warmer"?
Perhaps that section of the Park is called "Clinton Cove". Here's a story about it.
We have a winner, though the selection process has never been more diffcult. David took a giant leap forward with "Hudson River park viewing a 30 foot long sculpture of a wine bottle," but I just didn't think that was specific enough: Hudson River Park consists of 550 acres stretching about five miles, from Battery Park City to W. 59th Street...and I had already posted the picture of the entire bottle.
So despite David's key contribution, debbie wins by hoisting herself on David's proverbial petard with "Hudson River Park at 54th St. on pier 96," which, as David subsequently noted, is also known as Clinton Cove. Congrats to debbie, who's still hot and entitled to choose the format of the next challenge!
As for the specifics of the location, it's the site of the sculpture Private Passage, by Malcolm Cochran, creator of Field of Corn. Part giant bottle, part passenger vessel (in my second picture you can see a small porthole through the large one at the fat end of the bottle), Private Passage is well worth a visit. The park is attractive, too, with a special view of the Empire State Building when Private Passage is in the foreground.
Here are pictures related to the construction of Private Passage. Warning: They "give away" the interior of the sculpture.
And here are pictures of the sculpture's transit and installation.
Extra thanks to David for clearly showing that the comments can include hyperlinks.
Well, I must say, that as much as it's fun to win at this game, I feel completely undeserving of this win and therefore (if it's okay with you DMF) I pass along my format-selection rights to Dave, without whom I would not be where I am today. And Dave, I hope after this HUGE act of generosity you'll be gentle with the puzzle-selecting options...no pressure here.
No problema, debita.
Ok, here's my choice of clue format: use another flash-gear.com tool for the visual clues. This one is called 'Water'. See this example:
Wavy Davy
To do it yourself go here.
What a weird tool--every picture I put in comes out looking like dave flipping the bird!
That could make the next challenge quite difficult....
