WHERE WAS I? Scott, the winner of last week's challenge, requested that this week's challenge incorporate the "illustration" format. So I did my best to please. Now it's your turn to go ahead and guess! The winner will choose the next format, though I will now reserve the option to reject a format if I just can't pull it off. I'm also going to reserve the option of postponing a format at my whim. I'll try not to exercise (or at least overexercise) either option, but I realize I ought to establish those policies asap! So here goes...use the Comments for your guesses.

the land of the lost!
Sculpture of Bolivar on 59th Street entrance to Central Park?
Getting warmer. But you knew that, I hope.
In your own dream about being a shoe salesman, inspired by the film "Me You and Everyone We Know"?
Those look like dog paws. Sculpture of Balto in Central Park?
Sorry, benjie...no such dream, though I did indeed splurge on footwear this (tax-free) week!
david...getting warmer!
that polish king knucklehead on the horse near the great lawn where they do the folk dancing?
If you mean the statue of King Wladyslaw Jagiello, who led the unforgettable unification of Lithuania and Poland in the 15th century, well, you're getting cooler.
Indian hunter and dog statue near 66th street? That back one looks like a human foot, yes?
Yeessss! And now that I see that new pic, there's even an arm. Definitely Indian hunger and dog! East of Sheep Meadow. Not that I remember seeing it, but I googled.
Debbie, you're sizzling hot...and still lightning fast!
The statue is Indian Hunter, by John Quincy Adams Ward, whose works can be found throughout New York City. Located between Central Park's Literary Walk and Sheep Meadow (not far from the statue of Balto), Indian Hunter depicts an archer hunting with a canine companion. I thought it was apropos for this time of year, as it portrays a dog (as in Year of the...) and a man wearing No Pants (as in No Pants 2k6). I tried getting an "upskirt" image of the hunter but all I did was attract strange looks from parkgoers.
Plus, there's archery!
