A WINTER'S TALE. This morning NY1 anchor Pat Kiernan wondered why cabs were the only cars he'd seen stuck on the city's snowy, slushy streets. Tonight, on 47th Street, I noticed a cab stuck in an slippery rut. The vehicle had a curious defect: It couldn't shift into reverse. Either that, or the cabbie didn't know how to put the car into reverse.

It took about four passersby (including your brawny blogger) to push the taxi out of its rut. As soon as we had finished we were honked at by some guy in an SUV with New Jersey plates. It seemed that he considered us a nuisance. It was only a matter of time before a chunk of snow exploded against his car, inspiring the driver to brandish a middle finger before driving off.
