AND NOW FOR SOMETHING ELSE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. It's...the first anniversary of
Spamalot on Broadway! To celebrate the event (and milk it for publicity), Pythonites will cram into
Shubert Alley for a performance of "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life." With coconuts. Supposedly someone from
The Guinness Book of World Records will be there to drink enormous quantities of dark bitter beer and judge whether the coconut wielders constitute
The World's Largest Coconut Orchestra, leaving one to wonder who holds the record for having
The World's Largest Coconuts. Anyway, registration for the event begins at 3:45 pm; if you get there early enough, you get to leave with your own coconuts intact. (Thanks to The Other Dave for the lead.)
DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS DEPARTMENT. Weeks ago, I wrote that Monty Python's Personal Best was going to be on the telly. I was wrong about the timing (but so were websites that should have had the correct info). So apologizes to those who wound up watching that biography of Samuel Goldwyn. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.) Anyway, here are some more alleged air times for MPPB in NYC. Blog About Town regrets the confusoin.
