A GOOD DOCTOR. I'm happy to give a "thumbs up" to the print of Doctor Zhivago to be shown at the Ziegfeld on Thursday night. I think it's a restoration completed by Turner about ten years ago. The visuals are imperfect but good, with the enhanced sound lush and effective.

Some more good news: there's an Intermission after about two hours. The film doesn't stop as long as it ought to, but if you get up to take care of business as soon as the Intermission starts, there's a good chance you'll have enough time to get back to your seat for the next hour of Russian history.
