WHERE WAS I? This week you definitely don't have to be an expert on New York City to name the location. All you need to do is solve the puzzle and leave your guess in the comments section. Go to it!

I solved the puzzle but could not place where you were. Lower East Side? Couldn't be 42nd Street.

Anyway, I accidently clicked on flash puzzle and when I came back the puzzle was scrambled again. So, I give up! What is it?

I solved the puzzle again but still can't place where you were.

Thanks for taking a shot, motherkitty! The Lower East Side is, alas, cold, but you're closer to the answer than you realize.

Okay, wild guess. Macdougal Street in the Village.

That's certainly warmer than the Lower East Side...but, believe it or not, the front of your nose is much, much warmer!

Okay, since I can't figure this blasted thing out (I have worked the puzzle three times, zoomed in, zoomed out, looked all over, reread your clues), I'm going to say that's you standing with your back to the camera on the street in front of the theater.

If this is not the answer, will you please put me out of my misery and just give me the answer. Thanks for saving my sanity.

Hello kitty! You're starting to "get the picture," I think, and I'd be delighted if you did...but I don't blame you for being frustrated. Still, I'm not ready to give away the answer quite yet.

I will say that I took the picture and I don't know who that person is. However, there's a very good chance we're both familiar with at least one or two people who spend a lot of time on the scene but aren't in the picture.

David, I first thought this a misdirect, but I've got to say it anyway ... West 53rd Street around the corner from the Ed Sullivan Theater.

Congratulations to Dolph...and thanks again to Motherkitty for being such a sport! I was looking for Hello Deli--yes, simply the name of the storefront in the center of the image--but "West 53rd Street around the corner from the Ed Sullivan Theater" is suitable.

The Ed Sullivan Theater is home to The Late Show with David Letterman. Comedy routines on the show regularly involve Rupert Jee of the Hello Deli.

When Letterman moved to the Ed Sullivan Theater, he made it a point to broadcast his visits to local businesses, bringing them a measure of fame. Years later, many of those businesses are gone but Rupert Jee's Hello Deli remains.

Well, no wonder I didn't recognize it! Not only do I not watch Letterman, I looked at that Hello Deli sign numerous times and couldn't read the letters. Otherwise I might have said it.

This certainly was an interesting exercise. Hope you have more of these.

Happy Sunday to you.
