THE EVERWOOD PRESERVATION SOCIETY. Last night the CW/WB aired the final episode of Everwood. "The CW has already made its first mistake," wrote Entertainment Weekly (June 2, 2006) of the cancellation.
Here's Charlie McCollum of San Jose's The Mercury News on the subject. And here are numerous contacts for those who want to lobby to save the show.
As a fan of Everwood, I've enjoyed watching its evolution. Anyone interested in quality primetime soaps can learn a lot from the tweaking of the production from season to season as well as its casting. Performances were good all around, but whoever was responsible for the physical casting--especially that of the Abbott family--did phenomenal work. Those three generations actually looked like they could be related!
So congrats to everyone who worked on Everwood during its short but memorably bittersweet run. Whatever you do next, I hope you build on the good work you've done.
