COSMIC LOOKS. Okay...I have to admit I'm disappointed. This week an asteroid had a "close call" with Earth and the shuttle Discovery had a spectacular lift-off...but they're barely represented among the latest Astronomy Pictures of the Day. (So far there's this Discovery shot from May.) You will, however, find a composite from Mars (below) and this striking tornado/rainbow shot--from Kansas!
