AIRCRAFT CRASHES INTO UPPER EAST SIDE BUILDING. Reports are coming in of a building on the Upper East Side (72nd and York) having been hit by an aircraft. It's being covered widely on local television.

UPDATE 4:40
NBC-4 is reporting that pitcher Cory Lidle has been linked to the aircraft. The Wikipedia entry on Lidle already includes this sentence: "The plane that crashed in New York City's Upper West Side [sic] today was registered to Lidle, and it is believed that he was on board at the time of the crash."

Reports are coming in of nine injured people at New York Hospital.
