TRUDEAU TALKS! Sunday's Washington Post included a substantial feature on Doonesbury creator Garry Trudeau that was followed by a Q&A that opens with a great anecdote from Post staff writer Gene Weingarten. I think the article exaggerates Trudeau's media shyness (the cartoonist is almost a Norman Mailer compared with Thomas Pynchon), but otherwise it strikes me as a good introduction to Trudeau and his circle. And I'm glad to see Trudeau getting more recognition for his recent storyline about soldiers wounded in Iraq.

You can read Doonesbury online here.

Thanks to Matt Mendelsohn for the tip-off(s). Back at Mattlin, we used to quote Doonesbury fourth panels at each other. I also remember Matt poring over Alfred Eisenstadt photos in the school library. Now he's preparing a photo exhibition of his own!
