CARTOON CAPTION/ANTI-CAPTION CONTESTS CONTINUE!

Caption Contest #71 (doctor talking with sections of a patient) gives me hope, because the winner isn't so far from my losing submission. So hearty congrats to Eric Sagalyn of Worcester, Massachusetts, who raised my spirits, prolonged the East Coast winning streak, and also entered into a three-way with New Jersey and Pennsylvania at six wins astate! His winner:
"This is the most advanced case of Surrealism I've seen."
My loser:
"I'm afraid you're suffering from Damien Hirst."

In Caption Contest #73 (businessman with businessman nestled at his feet) the nominees are in! There are two from New York City (though The New Yorker continues to treat Brooklyn as something other than New York City), but I think I favor the one from somewhere west of The Big Apple.
"Mom, tell Kevin to quit biting."
R. M. Keller (New York City)

"Carol, let's go ahead and keep the job posted for a little while longer."
Colin Nissan (Brooklyn, NY)

"No, it's more of a gnawing ..."
Robert Osborn (Iowa City, IA)
My loser:
"I can't focus right now. My boss is nipping at my heels."

There's a delay in the Anti-Caption Contest results.
