HERE'S TO THE LADY WHO LUSTS. On Monday Rachel Kramer Bussel blogged about a publishing crisis: the Advanced Marketing Services bankruptcy that has jeopardized royalties for Tristan Taormino and other author/editor types (erotic and otherwise), including RKB herself.

Then, on Wednesday morning, RKB got a call from Village Voice editor David Blum, who told her that he was discontinuing her Lusty Lady column. Yeah, that's right: The brain drain at Michael Lacey's Voice has claimed another of my favorite writers. (I've insufficiently bemoaned the dismissal of film critic Michael Atkinson but I miss his contributions too. He tended to cover--and appreciate--my kind of movies.)

That's what I'd call a tough week. Yet I expect RKB to take full advantage of this crisis/opportunity. That's because RKB is an HPP--Highly Productive Person--who is also a gifted writer. Her Voice contributions make for a great set of clips. (They were often edited by Elizabeth Zimmer--also axed.)

Here's RKB's last column for the Voice. And here's her MySpace page. And here's her blog. And here's her erotic reading series. And here's her professional web page. And...well, you can just Google her.
