ELK CANDY: STILL CLOSED. Lately I've noticed an upsurge in interest in my April 15, 2006 post about the closing of Elk Candy. Among the comments is this response, from March 22:

It's really nice to hear that people still miss us.But im sorry to say the highs rents in manhattan has forced me to close for good after moving from 86th st to 2nd ave i thought i would be there forever.I was thinking of maybe opening up a small store where i live now in the hudson valley area and maybe do mail order but thats still up in the air. If i do i will post it here.Many Thanks Elk candy

It sure would be sweet if Elk Candy were to return yet again, even upstate in the beautiful Hudson Valley area. (If at least some products could be guaranteed gluten-free, so much the better! But better to have some Elk than no Elk at all....)
