LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE FARM! I was delighted to see the restaurant The Farm on Adderley recognized among Time Out New York's critics' picks in its, um, Eat Out Awards.
Best reason to ride the Q train
The Farm on Adderley
1108 Cortelyou Road between Stratford and Westminster Road
Ditmas Park, Brooklyn
718-287-3101
I dined there with a friend soon after the restaurant opened last year; since then I've happily returned several times. I'm the guy who orders the hangar steak while enviously eyeing other dishes. I've also enjoyed soups at the restaurant: a corn chowder and, if memory serves, a potato soup enhanced with seafood. The wine has been just fine, too.

The experience of taking the subway to Ditmas Park to dine reminds me of similar railroad excursions to similarly worthy restarants in Westchester. It's just more economical and, in all probability, faster. Call in advance to make reservations. The restaurant is just a short walk from the Cortelyou stop.

Here are write-ups from The New York Times and Chowhound.
