That's a good guess, Debbie especially in light of the first clue and the bridge/Eugene de Salignac photography exhibit at the museum--yet another attractive show in the city during what seems to be an outstanding season. (That's my point of view, at least.) But, as you've probably guessed by now, that's not it, either.

You and Debbie have been obsessing over three movie backdrops on display as part of the Celluloid Skyline exhibit at Grand Central Terminal 'til Friday.
So how convincing were the shots? I tried to snap them at the most illusory angles...and, from sizing up the results, I think I wound up with a little lesson in perspective. I don't know when I'll have another chance to try it out, though.
Oh--anyone want to guess about the source of the second image, or should I just give it away?
When I first saw picture 2 I thought it looked very 50's and thus thought of the UN, but I can't recall anything like this there.
I thought it looked a little Musée d'Orsay but that's not in Manhattan.

OK given your info and google I now know the movie, nbn with cg, but I'll keep it this cryptic so others can guess. I own the movie so I can't wait to get home and check this out.
Gary, you're too cute with your "cryptic" answer. Being that I seem to encompass the "others" in this round I believe I've cracked your secret code and it's North by Northwest with Cary Grant. Having figured that out, I still don't know where that's supposed to be, if it's supposed to represent a real location.
