WHERE WAS I? As usual, it's in one of the five boroughs. Leave your guesses in the comments section and, if you're new to this, be sure to use a distinct moniker.

Yes, Debbie.

You were at the Conservatory Garden in central park. The second fountain is the Untermeyer Fountain and I think the first one is the Burnett Memorial Fountain.

You are right, Gary!

I was at the Conservatory Garden in Central Park...with an Upper East Sider who hadn't even been aware of the garden's existence!

I think very highly of the pre-1910 Untermyer Fountain sculpture The Three Dancing Maidens. I'm impressed by sculptor Walter Schott's skill at portraying fabric clinging to bodies, and I love how beads of water from the fountain spray gather on the figures, adding to the effect.

The restored Burnett Memorial Fountain, by Bessie Potter Vonnoh, depicts two characters from The Secret Garden. Fitting, I think, considering how the attractive Conservatory Garden manages to stay out of the limelight in one of the most famous and most visited parks in the world.

Bessie Potter Vonnoh was a White Rabbit.
