I recently had the pleasure of meeting the artist Anne Cubberly. More recently, I visited (H)artford, Connecticut and had the pleasure of seeing some of her work, including many masks.
Here are masks that on display at Gallery 11 (11 Whitney Street, 860-232-4677) through November 4, 2007.




Anne recently worked with some schoolchildren on a theatrical production that included a big dragon with working jaws, a sinuous tail, and glowing red eyes! (Terrific and totally energized kids not shown.)


And here's the artist herself! As you can see, she's got a good head on her shoulders.
