WHERE WAS I? OSCAR SPECIAL 2008 As usual, anyone can play; just use a distinctive moniker (not Anonymous) so we can tell who you are.

So this is how this one goes: Leave your Oscar guesses in the comments section by 7 pm EST on Sunday, February 24, 2008. Top score gets a point. Any score that beats my score gets a point. (My ignorant picks are boldfaced.) And anyone who gets the BONUS question right gets a point.

First things first: I believe my score on this was 13.

How did y'all do?

And, if you watched the telecast, would you agree that it was above average? And wasn't the documentary thing stranger than usual?

Anonymous said...

I got 8 points. I probably would've scored higher if I had seen more than Ratatouille, Enchanted, and uh Transformers :D I think I will see Juno this week.

David said...

I got 11 points and missed most of the show and watched Pride and Prejudice instead.

I got 8 points and I've seen almost all of the films! Very lame.

More importantly: what about the bonus point?

David Marc Fischer said...

Okay, here's the easiest part: Debbie gets the bonus point...and I will leave any explanations to your imaginations!

As for the main part of the competition, I think I will stick to the conditions that I'd spelled out for the contest, which means that Dave will not be considered for a point. I hope he can take some consolation in his score!

Regarding the point totals of Myra and Debbie, would you mind double-checking? I'm getting 8 for Myra but 7 for Debbie....

Anonymous said...

You're probably right with 7 points. I trust you. I was comparing to a list which listed the awards in a different order and it got a little confusing for me. What I really care about is that I got that bonus point! I can pick out that DMF wit a mile away.

I just counted again, and I'm pretty sure I got 8: 1.Actor, 2.Art direction, 3.Costume, 4.Song, 5.Motion Pic, 6.Foreign Film, 7.Visual Effects, and 8.Adapted screenplay

David Marc Fischer said...

You're right, Debbie--I was forgetting The Counterfeiters, which I think you liked, right?

So sorry to put you through all that. You and Myra both get a point for scoring!

Haven't seen The Counterfeiters yet.

I'm wrong again!
