The BAT Challenge: Playing Favorites?

In the BAT Challenge, Deborah has won a WWI? credit and an Attendance Award. Ellen has won a WWI? credit. And Debbie has won a Gold Medal and an Attendance Award and garnered two unredeemed Silver Medals and one unredeemed Bronze Medal as well as a WWI? credit plus a Februrary 2008 WWI? credit. Yet it was Debbie who recently posed the following question:
What's "loopy" is the wherewasIometer! That Deborah and Ellen should plunge into the lead is great, but how do I go from 16 to 9 and Scott plateaus at 10? Are you playing favorites, Davester?
So here's this week's challenge: In one comment, explain the wherewasIometer! This week the competition is open only to previous players using their usual monikers—and anyone who posts will get a point. But beware: I may dole out a bonus point for any favorite answers!

I can't get the math to work exactly, but I'm guessing that the Gold, Silver, and Bronze statuses are worth 10 points, and the scores are reset for everyone after the medals are awarded. The number of points left for Gary and Myra appears to be the balance of points after 10 are taken away and 2 are added back for the Palin credit. I can't get Debbie's to work, though - I'm off by a point.

That's because Debbie loses points for being annoying.

I see. My guess works perfectly, then.

the confusion certain arises from awarding vague points for the Palin challenge (there were 3 issues, then a bonus point for beating David, and a bonus for getting the most right) WHILE also deducting 10 points for the metal statuses

but hey, it is your game, and we are simply scrounging for virtual points! (now give me another point for posting this!)

Uh, there is no formula. The whole point is to keep everybody happy, silly - the blog owner, blog readers, and WWI participants.

BTW, I'm kinda glad that McCain didn't die after all.

Yes, Ellen, it seems to work that way. The less you participate the more you get rewarded. Kidding, kidding... I'm really not bitter. I just like to give David a hard time, though he really doesn't deserve it. Few people are as fair and spend as much time and effort in making sure of their fairness.
