Researching the Busby Berkeley extravaganza The Gang's All Here (now available on DVD), I noticed a mention of specialty dancer Miriam Lavelle, who seems to have something of a fan base on YouTube. The acrobatic Lavelle appeared in several films (including The Gang's All Here) in the 1940s, but I haven't found much else about her on the Internet. Which makes me curious about the rest of her career.
Here she is in Seven Days Ashore (1944).

I'm compiling a website called The Miriam LaVelle Project that may be successful in establishing more detail about this fascinating lady. Julian Bonser - books@julianbonser.co.uk
