This week at the Film Forum you can see Viridiana, one of my favorite movies by Luis Buñuel. I find the story fascinating with its surrealistic twists, and I continue to be amazed that Buñuel made the movie under Franco's nose: Spain's entry at Cannes, the movie shared the 1961 Palme d'Or but it was actually banned in Spain and condemned by the Vatican.
Here's a trailer, which strikes me as kind of surrealistic in its own hypey way!
