On the Incident of the Shoes in Iraq

When I think about the recent incident in which an Iraqi journalist threw shoes and invectives at George Bush, my thoughts tend to return to a speech Bush delivered at the March 2004 Radio & Television Correspondents Association dinner, during which he joked about not being able to find the Weapons of Mass Destruction that he had used as a pretext for invading Iraq.
