OLBERMANN RAISES GLUTEN-FREE DOUGH. Shocking news of the week: Something positive has come out of the Michael Jackson child molestation trial!

Playing a key role in this stunning development is Keith Olbermann of Bloggermann and Countdown with Keith Olbermann, home of the Michael Jackson Puppet Theatre (MJPT).

This week, Olbermann & Company auctioned autographed MJPT puppets (including versions of Jacko, Tom Sneddon, and Tom Mesereau) on eBay, where the winning bid of $15,099.99 went to charity.

The beneficiary of this fundraising effort was the Celiac Sprue Association. I have reservations about that group (I prefer almost any other celiac organization, including the Westchester Celiac Sprue Support Group and its Gluten-Free Restaurant Awareness Program) but the cause is a good one. (Here's an FAQ from the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University, another worthy association.)

The results of the eBay auction are slotted to be covered tonight on Countdown on MSNBC at 8 p.m. ET.
