NEWSROOM NEWS. One of the most popular comedies in the history of Canadian television, The Newsroom is a satirical peek "behind-the-scenes" of a fictional TV news show. It airs for all-too-short runs before vanishing from the airwaves again.
Currently, a new set of Newsroom episodes is airing on WLIW on Fridays at 10 p.m. ET and repeating on Wednesdays at 11:30 p.m. ET. Catch it if you can.
Due to the magic of video, you might be able to catch up on the great early episodes. The DVD appears to be available through NetFlix.
An amazing thing about The Newsroom is that its auteur and star, Ken Finkleman, has been involved as a writer on some much less impressive projects: Grease 2 (1982), Airplane II: The Sequel (1982), and Who's That Girl? (1987). Since the 1990s, The Newsroom has really let his talent shine.
