"WATER TOWER" VS. HEARST BUILDING. Not very long ago, Jonathan Ames ran a dignified contest for The Most Phallic Building in the World, a title won by Ypsilanti's water tower. The website includes a subsection for Late Comers, but perhaps it's time to officially reopen the contest.
You see, at first glance the reconstructed Hearst Building might not look especially virile or suggestive, even when photographed at a tilt...
...but depending on how you look at it, the recently unsheathed edifice could give Ypsilanti's water tower a run for the money shot.
