OSCAR TALK...AND A FASHION SHOW? AT MACY'S?? Entertainment Weekly film critic Owen Gleiberman and other members of the EW crew will talk Oscar on the fourth floor (dresses) of Macy's Herald Square tonight at 6 pm. Afterwards, there might be "a runway show inspired by red carpet fashion" and a cocktail reception, too!

In some ways I'm glad that Oscar fashion has become more elegant since the 1970s, but I still miss the outrageous styles I associate with times past. This slideshow that claims to review Oscar's 12 Biggest Fashion Disasters barely skirts the surface, though it does include Björk's swan number, Cher's big Bob Mackie thingie, and designer Lizzy Gardiner's AmEx gold card frock.

Go Fug Yourself (which is worth visiting solely for the crazy Bai Ling outfits) has some post-party pictures including noteworthy shots of Stephanie Seymour and Alexis Bedel. Which is why I'm noting them. There's just not as much to note about the outfits seen in this Go Fug Yourself red carpet coverage for MSNBC.
