WAY TO GO, RIDGEWAY! Mother Jones has hired ex-Village Voice correspondent James Ridgeway to head its new DC bureau. Says the press release: "Defying the trend throughout the media of slashing reporting resources, Mother Jones is expanding its investigative reach by hiring a new investigative team and opening a Washington bureau."

Meanwhile, at the depleted Village Voice, a major chunk of theater critic Michael Feingold's review of Shining City/Faith Healer went missing in the hard copy. Instead there were four short columns regurgitated from Feingold's Obie article from the same issue. That flub is right up there with the "production error" that repeated/deleted Nat Hentoff's column some weeks ago.

Here's previous turmoil at the Voice.
