WHERE WAS I? As usual, it's in one of the five boroughs. Leave your guesses in the comments section.

Queens?
Nope!
You know, sometimes I get the feeling that "Queens?" is a euphemism for "WTF?"
Lincoln Center?
Columbia University?
No and no, Debbie and Scott.
Brooklyn?
Wow! It's a guessing explosion!!
But no, Gary. It's not Brooklyn.
Fordham Law?
Were you in Manhattan?
Is this a synagogue?
No, Gary...it's not Fordham Law.
Yes, Gary--Manhattan.
So far Debbie and Gary have had the best (better?) pairs of guesses.
Debbie, it's not a synagogue (and I hadn't seen that guess when I referred to pairs of guesses).
Scott guessed Fordham Law so now the "pairs" clue is totally confusing!
I'll guess you were on the Upper West Side...say, north of 72nd Street?
"No, Debbie," replied David, as wide swaths of the city continued to be eliminated from consideration.
51st & Broadway?
No, David--but that's a relatively good guess.
Were you below 42nd St?
"No, Gary," replied David as another vast tract of the Big Apple went out of consideration.
Were you at the Trump globe sculpture at Columbus circle? (although I can't recall any brick around this)
140 East 45th Street?
Warming up, Scott!
Is it east of Park Avenue? Just for the sake of keeping the ball rolling...
Yes, Debbie: It's east of Park Avenue.
51st Street and 2nd Avenue?
Warmer, Scott!
Is this in front of a residential building?
Is this in front of medical facility?
To the best of my knowledge "residential building" is a yes; "medical facility" is probably way cooler.
Scottie, you're way cool, babe! But you already knew that.
Okay, were you in the East 60's?
Well, Debbie, now you're "way cool" too.
Were you north of 55th st?
45th Street and 3rd Avenue?
No, Gary.
Scott, your guess is in the right neighborhood but you've been warmer.
Were you at the Turtle Bay Garden Apt's 226-246 E. 49th St. between 2nd and 3rd Ave?
Gary, you are now in the same warmness zone as Scott!
I was worried that it might take a century before anyone uncovered the location of this place...but I'm feeling more optimistic now.
54th St. and 1st Avenue?
Forget that last guess... 47th and 1st Avenue?
Very warm, Debbie!
46th and 1st Avenue?
Cooler!
48th and 1st Ave?
You've got it, Debbie!
The sculpture, Suffusion by Arthur Carter, is in a public space by the northwest corner of 48th Street and First Avenue--part of the 100 United Nations Plaza complex. There's another, larger Suffusion at George Washington University in Washington, DC; this might be yet another one. Closer to the complex's entryway is another work by Carter--it resembles this. Carter seems to have a fascination with repetitions of simple geometric forms (ovals, rectangles, and so forth). I wonder if he's a doodler.
