CARTOON CAPTION/ANTI-CAPTION CONTESTS CONTINUE!

The winner of Caption Contest 103 (birdwatchers behold bird wearing thong) is
"It's a thongbird."
Sandy Sommer (St. Louis, MO)
So that makes two winners from Missouri, despite what you might read in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. (Here's the first of those winners.) And, as previously noted, the winning caption is very close to anti-caption finalist
"No, theriouthly, it'th a thongbird. With a T."
Trout Almondine

The nominees in Caption Contest 105 (couple observing Hiroshige wave in built-in pool) are
"It's time that child went on a diet."
Daniel Siegel (Monroe Township, NJ)

"I told you this house was too close to the moon."
Laura Hipp (Jackson, MS)

"Cowabunga, dear."
James Hinshelwood (Silver Spring, MD)
My loser? I don't think I have a record of it. But, after last week's midtown explosion, I did come up with a new anti-caption for it:
"You say it's terrorism? I say it's Con Edisism."

In Anti-Caption Contest 106 (scientist reading manuscript from typing monkey or chimp or something), the winner is the outstandingly tasteless
"Dear Mrs. Miller,

The U.S. Military regrets to inform you that your son, Sergeant Bradley Miller, was killed in the act of duty..."
Brian L
My losers:
"Start typing!"

"Our Gibbon is funnier."
