This morning, the bill easily swept through the Government Operations Committe 6-0, with one absention. Chairman Simcha Felder, Peter Vallone, Jr, Inez Dickens, Helen Sears, Erik Martin Dilan, and Domenic Reccia, Jr. all voted in favor of the measure.
Councilman Larry Seabrook, who has previously supported the proposal, abstained.
The bill will now go up to a full-council vote this afternoon.
