WHERE WAS I? Anyone can play. As usual, it's in one of the five boroughs. Leave your guesses in the comments section and remember that specificity counts—and that goes for whatever moniker you choose. ("Anonymous" won't cut the cake.)

Oh, this is easy! It's the 9 in front of 9 West 57th Street, only not as glossy.

Or maybe one of the test swatches for the Guggenheim's new paint job?

Nice tries, Debbie! I must admit the 9 wasn't far from my mind....

Old close up of The Gates in Central Park.

Oh...good guess, Dave, but not right either.

Were you in Manhattan?

David Marc Fischer said...

Yes, Gary...as you can clearly see in the second photo. (Heh.)

Is this in a playground?

David Marc Fischer said...

Not exactly, Debbie.

The little red light house?

David Marc Fischer said...

You got it, Gary--pretty quick!

It's the Little Red Lighthouse beneath the George Washington Bridge and adjacent to a picnic area.

I strongly recommend an autumnal afternoon walk north along the Hudson Shore--say, from Riverbank State Park north to the Little Red Lighthouse, and possibly beyond. If you're not afraid of a little adventure, try a side trip on the dirt path that's along the shore to the west of a ballpark....

Very impressive, Gary.

why does it look orange?!??

Maybe it's a Mac thing, Myra. You know: Apples and oranges?

Thanks Debbie, when I saw the gray paint at the bottom of the door and those bolts I thought of that children's book, The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge and made my guess.

By the way DMF, I LOL when I read your apples and oranges comment. Very quick.
